In Denmark, not all foreign property investors are allowed to buy property.
Permission from the Ministry of Justice is required for those without Danish residence.
This applies for those who want to invest in holiday home or residential property.
Citizens from EU and Northern European countries are allowed to buy residential property without permission being required.
Danish properties are among the largest in Europe.
Property prices in Copenhagen are quite high but lower compared to few other European capitals.
The average houses in Copenhagen start from around 250,000 Euros and a small provincial apartment can't be bought for less than around 90,000 Euros.
When buying a property in Denmark, it is highly advised to hire a lawyer and of course a real estate agent.
The property seller usually pays the commission to the real estate agent.
The fee represents 3%-4% of the purchase price.
The buyer has to pay registration fee for the deed which is about 0.6% of the purchase price.
All property transactions must be recorded with the Land Registry.
The seller's agent is responsible for drawing up the contract between buyer and seller.
